I am the Grace Wahba Professor of Data Science and the Keith and Jane Nosbusch Professor in Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an Adjoint Professor at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago. My research and teaching focus on artificial intelligence and signal processing.

My current work investigates the mathematical foundations of deep learning, algorithms for data-efficient machine learning, and the intersection of AI and human cognition.
